Lessons

I tripped over my dog and injured my mouth. A journey that requires multiple procedures and will take months to be completely done. What stood out the most is the concern and love I received from so many people. This accident has taught me so much.

  • To be grateful for the people in my life. The outpouring of love, concern and prayers has overwhelmed me.
  • To slow down and give my body a chance to heal.
  • To rethink my lifestyle and do something about it.
  • To make good on all the promises I made (especially photos) with everyone.
  • To give my creative side a lot more exercise.
  • Realisation of how stoic I am.
  • Patience.
  • How much I miss my mum.
  • How much my family loves me.

I’ve been pushing myself so hard, that I didn’t realise that I had stopped living. I was flitting from one activity to another without concern for my body, my mind or my soul. This sudden standstill has come as a much needed reprieve I didn’t know my being thirsted for.

Sometimes God gives us what we most need in a manner that we least expect.
